Testimonials
A big thank you to the following clients for sharing their journey and success stories with me.

I came to Andrea having suffered gut health issues since having long covid. I cannot emphasise how amazing this support has been. I have had a full overhaul of my nutrition and am now eating so much better for my body. Additionally, specific advise on the right probiotic has seen my gut health and energy levels greatly improve. For 6 sessions I can literally say this has been life changing. Thank you Andrea.
Again Andrea, a massive thank you.

Hi Andrea,
I just wanted to thank you for all of your advice, knowledge and support.
When I first found you I had got to the point of desperation, I was in a right mess. After being diagnosed with auto immune thyroiditis some 10 months before, the consultant had given me very little information, I was told this is what you have, take the medication and sent on my way, but after months of continued stomach problems, hair falling out, low mood and many other symptoms that’s when I contacted you.
You was the first person to actually take the time to explain to me how nutrition can improve so many of my symptoms, at first I was skeptical, but gradually after eliminating certain food groups one at a time and starting this Paleo journey, with your support and knowledge I managed to get there in the end, and wow, I am just amazed at the improvement in not only my symptoms but my auto immune condition itself and overall wellbeing.
In only 4 months my digestive problems have settled, my hair is no longer falling out, for the first time in a year I have the energy again to start exercising and doing the hobbies I had stopped, I no longer have the tired blood sugar crashes and I just feel happier and healthier inside and out.
I have also just had a review with my Endocrine consultant and blood tests checked and I am now within a normal range for my thyroid levels, this was the biggest surprise for me, for the 10 months prior to starting the Paleo diet, medication had improved some levels very slowly but were not in normal range, and then in the short 4 months of working with you they have drastically improved and am now within normal levels, with no further increase in medication needed!
Again thank you so so much.
Zelah.

Testimonial for Andrea Wood, Nutritional Therapist. DipION Fd/Sc
I have known Andrea for over 10years. I initially met Andrea when she held her clinics at the Kirkbymoorside Natural Health Centre.
I have always benefitted from alternative therapies and at the time was seeking advice to relieve symptoms of menopause and fibrocystic breast disease.
Andrea was always very informative and confident in her approach and gave advice that complimented my knowledge as a Practice Nurse.
I was introduced to a Health improvement Plan which was explained thoroughly alongside a Dietary plan that was specific to my needs at the time.
I was impressed with Andreas' knowledge and holistic approach that helped me to recognise the diet and supplements that would correct my hormonal imbalances.
I converse regularly with Andrea on various medical/holistic subject matters and believe she would be an asset in General Practice and an excellent resource to the Practice team.

Now it may not be obvious to some, but I'm a strong believer in the power of nutrition, we are what we eat and all that. I've even done a course on nutrition for mental health!
It all stems from 13 years ago when I was told I had M.E and that would be my life from then on. I refused to believe it. It took time but I eventually found 2 incredible ladies who told me they could get me better. One of these, Andrea Wood was and still is, a nutritionist. My food plan was changed and over the course of several months, my health improved to get me back on my feet and back to the mother ship (India).
It's an eating plan I stuck to, and then gradually veered away from, the less I felt I needed it.
Then, over the last few years, I've not done anything differently, but I've gained weight and had a few other minor issues. I tried calorie counting, fasting and walking a lot more, sometimes individually and sometimes altogether but nothing worked. So then I thought sod it and just did as I pleased.
But, over recent months (and yes, it's been a rotten 10 months granted) I've really just felt like I've been wading through treacle.
I always buy fresh food, never anything packaged or processed, cook everything from scratch. I've gone back to my M.E food plan, but to no avail. Physically and mentally, I've not been where I'd like to be.
Happily, last week I reconnected with Andrea, who came over for a chat. Now it shouldn't have come as a great surprise that what my body needs now that I'm 54 and menopausal, is very different from what it needed when I was 42 and kicking the ass out of M.E. However, it did. I've been doing it all wrong. Well not all wrong, fresh is still king, but the rest of it isn't what my body needs now.
So, my food plan has been changed, and I'm sticking to it (mostly) and I'm already feeling so much more energised, sleeping better and much more like my old (aka younger) self.
Andrea will be keeping an eye on me for the next 5 weeks, with zoom check ons and we'll be tweaking and adjusting as we go. With how much better I'm feeling already, I'm excited for the results.
To be fair, I'm not even fussed about weight loss, though I guess I should be. As I see it, if you didn't like me slimmer, you won't like me fat, and if you don't like me fat, I won't like you when I'm skinny, simple as!
What I am hoping for is to be re energised and to know that what I'm doing is the best for all round good health. Let's face it, given how all my aunts are doing, I could have another 40 years left on this planet!
PS: If any one would like Andrea's details, I'm happy to share.
